Duties and Responsibility of the Committees
The President may appoint other standing committees as
needed to operate the Club efficiently. Members of all committees
shall be recruited by the chairperson coordinating the committee.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of the President, President-Elect,
and Immediate Past President. The Executive Committee meets
at any time, and guides the annual activities of the Club.
In instances where a meeting of the Board of Directors is
impractical, the Executive Committee may take action on
its own. The Executive Committee is responsible for making
a full report of such actions at the next regularly scheduled
Board of Directors meeting. The Executive Committee may
not spend funds in excess of $100.00 without Board approval.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee is chaired by the Vice President/School
Relations (Scholarships). This committee selects recipients
and determines criteria of the Nueces County A&M Club Scholarships.
The Chairman discloses the scholarship recipients to the
President. The Scholarship Committee promotes the Club and
Texas A&M University. This committee presents the Club's
Scholarship Program to area high schools.
Muster Committee
The Muster Committee plans and conducts the April 21
Muster Ceremony. The Vice President/Activities is the chairman
of this committee.
Lifetime Member Committee
The Lifetime Member Committee
is comprised of at least five individuals that have served
as either the President or a member of the Board of Directors.
Members of this committee are appointed by the President.
This committee selects members who have demonstrated outstanding
service to the Club, Texas
A&M University, and the community.
Program Committee
The Program Committee is chaired
by the Vice President/Activities. This committee organizes
interesting and diverse programs. This committee plans the
food and beverage menu for each function, activity, or meeting.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is chaired by the Vice President/Membership.
This committee notifies members in December of following
year’s dues. With approval from the Board of Directors,
the Membership Committee may conduct an annual membership
drive at the beginning of the year. The goal of this committee
is to recruit active, participating paid members. The Membership
Committee rewards and encourages participation and leadership
in the Club. This committee prepares the Club’s Membership
Directory with help from the Immediate Past President.
Bylaws Committee
The By-Laws Committee is chaired
by the Immediate Past President. This committee reviews
the By-Laws at least once a year. Recommended changes to
the By-Laws are addressed to Board of Directors and approved
by the Club members. The By-Laws aid the Officers and Board
of Directors in running the Club efficiently. This committee
provides copies of proposed changes to the Board of Directors
at least 30 days before the meeting they will be discussed.
By-Laws cannot be ratified without a quorum.

Aggie of the Year Committee
The Aggie of the Year Committee
is chaired the previous year’s Aggie of the Year. This committee
selects an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership,
dedication, and involvement in the Club,
Texas A&M University,
and the community.
