Howdy Ags!
The club is having a great 2010 so far and it’s thanks to all of its members and volunteers!
On April 21, we held our annual Muster ceremony at Joe Cotton’s. Our President Elect and Muster Chair, Andrea Goodrich, did a wonderful job organizing our event. What a great turnout!! I would like to extend a huge thank you to Andrea and the volunteers who made the evening successful and memorable. Todd Staples ’84, Texas Commissioner of Agriculture was our speaker and is a strong advocate for Texas A&M. We were able to share memories of Aggieland and answer “Here” for those Aggies who are no longer with us. Muster is such a memorable event that makes me really appreciate being an Aggie.
Our annual George Puls Jr. ’44 Memorial Golf Tournament is quickly approaching, and will be held July 16th at the Corpus Christi Country Club. We are always looking for volunteers and golfers, so if you’re able to help us out, we would really appreciate it. Please contact David Barganski ‘99 at dab12@aol.com for volunteer opportunities. Last year’s tournament was a huge success and we hope it continues to be this year! Our golf tournament is the Club’s largest annual fundraiser and your support is crucial to its success.
Don’t forget that our Club has monthly Happy Hours the first Thursday of each month and Aggie Luncheons the third Friday of each month. Check this newsletter and our website, www.saltyaggies.com, for venues. If you haven’t had a chance to come out, I’d like to encourage you to do so. Our Happy Hours continue to be a great success with new faces each month and our luncheons continue to showcase great speakers. Not only are we learning about what’s going on in our community and at Texas A&M, but we have a great chance to socialize with fellow Aggies while enjoying some great food. We’ve scheduled another Aggie night at the Hooks for Thursday August 5th. We hope you can join us again this year!
Please mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on all of these wonderful events!
Gig ’em!
